How the MCP surface works#
Scalar retrieves operation details just in time instead of loading an entire API into the model context. Installation MCP servers call selected API operations; Docs MCP helps AI clients search and read published documentation.
Authentication and access#
Configure OAuth, API keys, or bearer tokens per installation. Agents do not receive upstream credentials. Choose whether an installation is public, team-only, or shared with customers through access groups and OAuth.
